Terms of Use

1. About re-wise

re-wise (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an online revision tool. Parents and educators upload their own teaching material; our retrieval-grounded engine — including our study buddy Pip — turns it into curriculum-shaped daily practice for their children. By creating or using an account you accept these Terms.

2. How Pip and our engine work — and what they don't do

Pip is retrieval-augmented (RAG), not a free-running large language model. Every answer, hint and worksheet is generated from a defined set of sources only:
  • Officially licensed board-approved curriculum, grading and marking schemes that re-wise holds rights to use.
  • Study material the parent/educator has self-produced and uploaded, or that they confirm they have the right to use.

We do not train Pip on copyrighted third-party material that we do not have rights to, and we do not use children's work or uploaded materials to train external public models. The engine evolves only through retrieval over these approved sources and through internal quality improvements that respect the same boundaries.

3. Accounts

Parents/educators create child accounts using an invite link. Children choose a username; parents/educators are responsible for the children they add. Parent or guardian consent is required for every new child account before it activates. Keep your login details private — sharing them is a breach of these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

Use the app for genuine revision, tutoring or parenting. You must not: attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, access another user's data, scrape content, upload unlawful or harmful material, or upload third-party copyrighted material you do not have permission to use.

5. Your material, your rights

You keep ownership of everything you upload. By uploading, you grant re-wise a limited, non-exclusive licence to store it and use it onlyto generate, retrieve and improve practice for your own child and your own account. Material you mark as “shared with the community” on your dashboard is the only material that may be used to help other families; you can withdraw a community share at any time.

6. Practice content, mistakes, and your final word

Questions, model answers and Pip's coaching are a study aid grounded in the sources above. They can still contain mistakes. You review every model answer, can edit it, and have the final word on grades and feedback. Never rely on Pip's output as a final source of truth without review.

7. Children, safety and privacy

Our app is built for children aged 6–13. We've designed it so that personal data is minimal, parental consent is built into sign-up, every conversation Pip has is reviewable, and content is filtered for age-appropriateness. See our Privacy Policyfor the full detail of how we safeguard children's and parents' information.

8. Cookies & devices

We use only the cookies the app needs to keep you signed in and to remember your draft answers and layout choices. See the Cookies Policy.

9. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep re-wise running but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update these Terms; material changes will be highlighted in the app and on this page's “Last updated” line.

10. Liability

re-wise is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from incorrect practice content, missed sessions, or third-party services we integrate with. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
